March 21, 1997 - November 25, 2021

2022 Western Fortunes Legends inductee, Ninety Nine Goldmine.

Heaven gained a remarkable stallion as the great “99” was laid to rest on November 25, 2021. “A goodbye that I knew would be difficult but never imagined just how much… Our hearts are broken in a million pieces tonight. Loss of a legend.”

Ninety Nine Goldmine, a 1997 brown by Strawfly Special and out of Birds Merry by Merridoc had a SI 90, ROM, AAA, LTE $21,942.

The remarkable impact on the industry with offspring earnings, titles, recognition, sale toppers, arena recorder holders and notable broodmare sire will always be remembered.

“99” sired offspring with earnings in the six figures. His progeny have placed him to the top of the leading sire charts year after year throughout Canada and nationally with NFR qualifier and go round winner, RC Back In Black. And progeny earnings and championship titles don’t lie as he has sired offspring that are money earners in every discipline and at every level of competition. From NFR go-round wins to amateur champions his offspring have turned visions into reality for many.

“99 is the kind of stallion we’ve always dreamed of owning” and has a presence about him that is unmistakeable. He possesses good confirmation and athletic ability which he passes on to his offspring along with trainable minds. This true legend has left a legacy behind to be proud of.

The hardest thing is saying goodbye to one of the all-time greats. The impact that he made in the industry will never be forgotten and the stamp he leaves in his sons and daughters make him immortal.
